New York!

Hi everyone!
First of all I would like to apologise for my almost 2 month absence (slap on the wrist for Ella). I have been SO busy with school work and I have just returned from a trip to NYC! It really was one of the best trips of my life. I am so grateful I got to experience this amazing city with loads of school friends. However, I was (and still am a little bit) in a very sad mood because I miss it so much!
Anyway; of course I did some shopping out there. I got som really nice clothes from H&M and Urban Outfitters and I also got some American candy to take home but I thought I'd do a haul of all my beauty products for you guys!

I'll first show the stuff I got from Victoria's Secret- I'd never been in there so that was pretty exciting!
There was a 6 for $35 deal going on so me and my friends all picked up some body sprays. I chose this 'Tropic Breeze' one. It smells SO good. It says on the bottle that the fragrance notes are Mango and Blossom and it smells so fruity and summery and I will definitely be wearing this and soon as the weather gets warmer! Plus I only paid like $6 for this which is such a bargain I think.

I've always wanted one of these body lotions from VS as the packaging and the bottle design just looks so cute! I should mention that both these products are pretty new I think and must be part of their sumer collection or something. This lotion was $15 so a little more pricey but I was in one of those moods where I thought 'I'm not gonna be coming back to the USA for a long time so I might as well get it!' And I'm so glad I did because this smells delicious. The fragrance notes are Dewberry and Island Orchid and this just smells of summer. It's so girly and fresh and the lotion is so moisturising. I suggest you go to a VS store ASAP just to smell this, it is that good.

The last thing I got from VS was this face highlighter. It looks practically identical to the NARS one but..... I got mine for like £20 cheaper. YES. The shade is 'Showtime' and I think it could be comparable to 'St Barts' of the NARS multiple.  It's a beautiful dewy gold colour that I like to use on the highest points of my cheeks. Believe me, a little goes a long way with this. It has just the right amount of shimmer and I highly recommend it!

Onto drugstore products. Me and 2 friends quickly popped into Walgreens in Times Square and I picked up a few bits;

I got the Revlon lip butters!!!!! I was so happy when I saw these. I've wanted these for so long and I managed to pick up '045 Cotton Candy' (on the right) and '090 Sweet Tart' (on the left). The darker pink is a darker more pigmented tint with no shimmer and the lighter one is dusty pink with gold shimmer. These really are so moisturising and were very cheap at only $8 each. I really love these! Was quite glad they didn't have all the shades in stock otherwise I would have bought about 10!

The 3rd and last drugstore product I got was the Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush in '30 Candy Coral'. This blush feels so strange; it is actually bouncy! The pigmentation is great and the formula and colour will be great for summer. Again I got this relatively cheap at like $8.

Of course, I went to Sephora (I would be stupid not to) and I ended up spending $103!! Not too great but I'm so happy with what I got.
First of, I purchased the Sephora silk blush bronzer duo in 'Sunset Dance' which is EXACTLY the same as Nars blusher/bronzer duo in Laguna and Orgasm. I was over the moon when I spotted this and it only cost me $22 almost $20 cheaper than NARS. This compact is so sleek and sophisticated looking and the blusher inside is such a pretty coral pink colour with not too much shimmer. The bronzer is just the right shade for my skin-tone and contours perfectly. Cannot rave enough about this product.

Next I got another item from the Sephora collection. I got this beautiful eye crayon in '04 taupe'. I originally wanted to get a NARS eye crayon in Hollywoodland but they didn't have it in stock. I saw this however and fell in love. The colour is gorgeous and the formula is so soft and creamy. The colour is a bronze/gold which is my favourite colour for eyes. This only cost $12 which I think is fab.

I also picked up a Laura Mercier product which I was excited about. I got the 'Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20' in the shade Natural Radiance. I've always wanted a LM tinted moisturiser and this one is great. It is so silky and easy to apply and leaves a dewy finish to my face but it isn't oily. I can't wait to be wearing this in summer instead of foundation as it is so light.

I also picked up a SmashBox product. I really wanted to get something from this brand because I used to watch the Hills and Lo worked there and since then I've been obsessed with getting one of their products. I'm weird huh? Anyway I bought the Limitless 15 hour wear Cream Shadow in 'Riches'. The colour is GORGEOUS. It's such a shimmery copper gold bronze colour and the texture is so smooth and silky and it does stay on for ages! This was only $19 which for a brand like this is amazing, I think.

And lastly from Sephora I got two of their own brand nail polishes. I bought a bottle of Sephora nail polish Christmas 2010 and I found that I loved the brush- it was the best one I've used for nail polishes. The colour quality is also fabulous so this time I got 'Myrtille'(left) and 'Curacao' (right). I haven't worn these yet but I can't wait to! And I think I got these both for $8.

Finally I picked up 2 nail polishes from Urban Outfitters. I am literally in love with these and applied the blue colour as soon as I got home. I bought 'After Hours' (the sparkly one) and 'Crowded' (the blue one). These are so pigmented and gorgeous and I got these both for $10!

So that is all my beauty purchases from the amazing city of New York. I miss it soooooo much but I hope you enjoyed this post!

Stay Glamorous,
Ella xo
