hi everyone,
i have not blogged in absolutely forever. so much happened in the year i went away from blogging so I didn't keep up with it. first of all i finished school so i spent the majority of the summer with my family friends and boyfriend travelling to different countries and just making lots of lovely and fun memories. other things that kept me away from blogging was going to uni. i did leave uni and now have a job which gives me more time to do the things i love which obviously includes blogging.
i really really missed blogging. fashion and make up are my real passions in life and i can't wait to get back to (regularly) writing about them. Hopefully I will do 2 posts a week- one during the first half of the week so either Monday or Tuesday and then one on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
anyway, on to the post-
the oscars were just last night and my god it was an amazing show. from ellen ordering pizza for the whole place, to that twitter-breaking star-studded selfie, it was a show not to be missed. but one of the best bits of the show was the outfits. some of the dresses were just phenomenal. So i'm going to share with you 10 of my favourite outfits. It was very hard to get it down to just 10 i liked but here are my most loved dresses from the 86th academy awards-
Lupita Nyongo in Prada
the shape and cut of this dress is beautiful. personally, I don't think it suits her frame but the colour is so stunning and the plunging neckline and train make this dress. the colour is the perfect shade to transition from winter into spring.
Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace
This dress is just amazing, it's so stunning. Versace is my favourite designer and they did exceptionally well with this piece. Kate wears it so well and looks so radiant. It's a simple dress but it still makes a statement. The shoulder sleeves, colour and not to mention the fabric of this dress makes it my personal favourite of the night.
Angelina Jolie in Ellie Saab Haute Couture
First of all- cutest couple at the Oscars? I think so. Angelina dazzles in this beautiful metallic gown. It's safe because of the length of the skirt and the sleeves but the bead placement gives it a sexy yet still sophisticated edge
Guiliana Rancic in Paolo Sebastian
Guiliana was quoted as saying 'I feel princessey' and the E! Entertainment presenter certainly does look like a princess in this beautiful dress. The girly and feminine bodice goes amazingly well with the muted grey organza skirt. The colour palette of this dress is perfect for the Oscars.
Jennifer Garner in Oscar De La Renta
I love this dress. It's so reminiscent of the flapper age of the 1920's which is my favourite fashion period. The soft subtle colour and beaded skirt look beautful on Jennifer. Oscar De La Renta makes the most stunning dresses.
Emma Watson in Vera Wang
I was so happy to see a British celebrity looking amazing on the Red Carpet. This metallic dress looks amazing on Emma. The fitted top and flared mermaid skirt from the Vera Wang fall collection is simply gorgeous.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Reem Acra
Mrs Channing Tatum is one lucky lady! She's also lucky to be able to pull off this breathtaking dress. The gorgeous colour and feathered skirt hugs all her curves. The beaded bodice just adds more glamour.
Kelly Osbourne in Badgley Mischka
I love Kelly Osbourne's style. A white dress is a risky move but Kelly pulls it off effortlessly. The beaded gold cape adds drama to the outfit and the two colours compliment each other perfectly. I love this look
Anne Hathaway in Gucci
Anne Hathaway is one of my favourite actresses and I loved her look at the Oscars. This simple shaped dress with contrasting silver statement beading on the bodice is so flattering.
Khloe Kardashian at the Oscar Party
Now I know Khloe didn't go to the actual event but I couldn't not talk about her stunning outfit at Elton John's post Oscar party. Anyone who can pull off head to toe velvet with full length sleeves and skirt deserves recogntion. This colour looks great on Khloe and the shape of the dress hugs her famous curves. The plunging neckline is seductive but not too over the top. When I first saw her wearing this I instantly fell in love
So that was my round up of the dresses and styles at the Oscars. I loved watching the ceremony and can't wait to see what celebs will be wearing next year
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed
