My Makeup Bag

Hi girls,

So I thought I'd show you all my everyday makeup bag. It might seem like a lot of products but every one has it's use! Hope you like it :)

This is the makeup bag I use. It's by Ted Baker and it's a good size that doesn't take up too much room in my bag. I got this for Christmas one year and I love it because it's so pretty and girly.

The first thing I use is a primer. A primer is a must have in your make up bag. I'm sure you all know what it does but it really does make a difference in smoothing out your skin, ready for foundation and keeping your makeup in place longer. I use VIE's 'Prime Time' and it's a rosy coloured creamy primer that has tiny reflecting particles in it to give you a glow. I mix this primer with another one (ELF's Mineral Infused Primer) but it literally ran out yesterday morning. That one is very gel-like and smoothing. Mixing the two together gives great results.

I use a separate eye primer as I use quite a lot of products on my eyes. As I'm sure you know, this is the cult favourite 'Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion'. This is the small version as I got it in a Benefit gift set. Excuse the marks on it, I tried to cut it open to get more product! This really is great, I use it on my lids and just under my waterline to keep my eyeshadow and eyeliner in place as makeup (particularly eyeliner) just slides off my face. This definitely keeps everything in place throughout the day.

This is my FAVOURITE foundation by far! It is 'Maybelline Super Stay 24hr foundation'. It doesn't stay for 24hrs but it does last a fair while. It is quite full coverage that hides any imperfections such as spots etc. It is so easy to apply that it takes no time at all. I am in the shade '030 sand' and this matches my skin almost perfectly. It also has SPF 19 in it to protect your skin. I would highly recommend buying this foundation.

This is my concealer of choice. It is another product from the VIE range and it is the 'Correct and Perfect' concealer. It comes in a compact pot with a mirror for touch-ups. On the top layer it has two natural concealers in light and dark. I mix these two together for it to match my skin tone. These are creamy concealers and they blend so well and last for a long time on the skin. On the bottom layer there is a green (for covering up redness and I usually use this on any spots I have) and a purple (for correcting yellowness but I don't use this all that much)

This is my setting powder and it is 'Rimmel Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder' It only costs about £4.00 and it is so good! I am in the shade '021 transparent' and it is a soft powder that sets my foundation perfectly. As I have quite oily skin (especially on my nose) this is great at reducing shine. It also has minerals in it so you know it is kind to your skin.

I swear by this bronzer! It is 'Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Bronzing Powder' and I adore it. It has a slight shimmer in it that catches the light. It comes with a twist dispenser that gives out a little bit of product at a time. The colour isn't too dark and it gives you a gorgeous sun-kissed look. I do a straight sweep of it from the middle of my cheeks to my temples and it gives so much definition. It is a little bit pricey but so worth it!

This is the 'Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow' in 'Skinlights 08'. These cream shadows are just gorgeous. I chose the palette with natural warm colours in it. The shadows themselves are so blendable, wearable and don't crease or smudge. I mix the 2nd to the right and the furthest left to create my everyday colour. These are shimmery shadows that are so soft and pretty. The dark brown is stunning for more dramatic looks and the coral colour is a beautiful unexpected colour. These create great bases for other eye colours or look lovely just on their own. I simply apply these with my fingers as I find it is the easiest way. I will definitely be looking into the other palettes!

(The swatches go in opposite order to what they are in the palette)

For my everyday make-up I layer this on top of the creme shadows. This is MAC lustre eye shadow in 'Honey Lust'. It is the most pigmented, sparkling gold colour and it is gorgeous. With some glittery eyeshadow, all the particles fall off and onto your face, but with the MAC pots all the glitter stays in place. You only need a tiny bit of this as it is so pigmented. I use a tapered eyeshadow brush to really pack this onto my lid. If your new to MAC, go check it out. One of the best makeup brands for sure.

(Here is Honey Lust swatched)

Eyeliner is quite a tricky one for me as mine ALWAYS seem to come off. However after much searching, I think I've finally found a good one. 'Bourjois Liner Stylo' is an incredibly soft non-pencil liner. It is very pigmented and lasts a long time. I use a little bit of this on my waterline to add definition.
I use a felt liner to line my upper lashes just by my lash line. I think this really makes your eyes pop and make them look more awake. I'm currently using the ELF felt tip liner but this has just run out too so I need to buy a new one! But I just do a thin line sometimes winged out.

If I could only have one product in my entire make up bag, it would be this. Mascara is my favourite make up product and sometimes the only thing i'll wear is mascara. This is the 'L'oreal Volume Million Lashes'. So many people compliment me on my eyelashes and ask if I'm wearing false eyelashes and it's all down to this! It has a big brush but it has plastic spikes on it to really get to the root of your lashes. It is very black and extremely lengthening and volumising. I look for a mascara that will give my lashes volume and this certainly does!

If I'm just going to school, I don't wear lipstick but I'll try and always wear a lipgloss. This is 'Rimmel Stay Glossy' in the shade 'Always Lovely'. This is a gorgeous mid-pink with silver sparkle in it. It isn't sticky at all (and that is what I HATE about most lipglosses) and it makes you lips looked really plumped.

So that is my make-up bag! I really hope you guys like this post!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

Hi Girls,
Welcome to my first review! In this post I will be talking about the Clinique Moisturizing Gel. As I mentioned in my last post, I have combination skin so I purchased the gel instead of the lotion as I didn't want my skin to get any oilier than it was already. I've only had this for about 3 weeks but I am already in LOVE. I was a bit hesitant at first about buying it because of the £29.00 price tag but it is worth it!
First of all the packaging is so glamorous and chic. The pump is so easy to use and dispenses just the right amount to use, so no product is wasted and the bottle will last me ages.
I don't know if this is the same with every single jar but mine always feels so cool and refreshing when it goes on my skin. It's extremely light and never feels like it's clogging my pores. It glides on so smoothly and when I touch my cheeks afterwards they are so soft and smooth it's unreal! During the day my skin doesn't feel oily or dry-tight. It's just right. It makes make-up application easier too. I could rave all day about this product!
On the actual bottle it says it's fragrance free and i'm so glad it is as it makes it so much nicer to use! It also claims to 'improve skins texture and condition' and I'm pretty convinced it does! Since using this my skin looks so much more supple and smooth.

If you ever need a new moisturizer then definitely check this out! I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

I'm Sorry!

Hi!
I'm so sorry I've been slacking with blog posts, please forgive me! I have soooooo much going on at school. I take pretty academic subjects (Photography, Travel and Tourism, Philosophy and Ethics and English Literature) and all my time is taken up with mainly essays. Super fun. Anyway! I will try and be more consistent with these blog posts. Before I start doing any reviews or anything I thought I'd tell you a bit about myself-

Hair color- medium blonde. I do dye my hair so naturally I would say I'm very dark blonde
Eye color- Blue
Skin type- Normal to combination with some visible pores on my cheeks
Hair type- Oily. I need to wash it basically every day
Tanning type- Thankfully I tan pretty well in the summer! And my tan stays for quite a while

Hopefully this will then help you to decide if products are right for you when I come to review them :)

Hi!

Hi everyone!
So.....I decided I want to blog!
Basically I've been into make-up for as long as I can remember. When I was a little girl I always used to borrow my mum's makeup and doll myself up (trust me, I've learnt a few things since then!) Make-up is one of my biggest passions. I strongly believe that you can wear no make-up at all and still look beautiful. I don't like make-up for that reason. I like it because it is a means of expressing yourself. You can have fun with it, try out different looks and feel confident with it on!
However, my true obsession with beauty began about May 2010. I was bored one evening and decided to look up beauty videos on Youtube. The first beauty guru I ever watched was MacBarbie07 aka Bethany. I watched one video and was hooked. I then started watching more and more and more until I had at least 10 favourite beauty gurus!
I've been pondering over the idea of starting a beauty channel on Youtube for about 6 months now. But I'm one of those people who cannot STAND to hear their own voice in videos! I hate it! So I thought what else can I do to share my passion for make-up with people? That was when I thought; I'll start a blog.

I'm only 16 years old and come from a relatively small town but I hope this blog can one day take-off and I can really inspire people and give lots of hints and tips. I have quite a few blog post ideas in mind at the moment, but if you have any suggestions I do have a twitter account-  @ellajanew

I have a tumblr that is mainly dedicated to fashion and beauty. You can find me at http://ellabella06.tumblr.com/

I also have a page on Polyvore- http://jellabeans.polyvore.com/

I really hope you guys like my blog!
