Urban Decay Naked Palette

Hey girls,
So for a while now I've been using my Revlon Creme Shadows. But when I was putting on my make-up this morning I had a sudden urge to re-visit my Urban Decay Naked Palette. I purchased this back in August and I fell in love with it. The colours are absolutely stunning and can be used to create anything from a uber-simple daytime look to a sultry smokey evening look. The shadows have great staying power and I love that there are a few matte shades among the shimmery ones. My personal favorites to use are 'Sin' on the lid, a pinkish champagne shimmer or 'Sidecar' on the lid, a light gold shade with slightly more shimmer. Then in the crease I like to use 'Half-baked' an intense pure gold shimmer, 'Smog' a dark gold shimmer, 'Toasted' a pinky shade with golden brown shimmery undertones, or 'Hustle' a deep purple shade with brown shimmer.
This palette was pretty expensive (I think I paid about £40 for mine) but it is so worth it as the colours are SO pigmented and gorgeous. And you get 12 shadows in the palette that can be used to create 100's of looks.

New products!

Hi everyone,
Half term break has just started for me so I should be able to get a lot more blog posts done!

So as I'm sure you know, I watch beauty gurus on YT religiously. As the people I watch are mainly from America, the new beauty products come out there first and I've seen a few products that I CANNOT wait for!

So the first one is Revlon Lip Butters

I cannot tell you how excited I am about these! These are soft buttery lip balms that give a beautiful shiny colour. My lips are constantly getting dry so a product that intensely hydrates AND colours them is my idea of heaven! The colour range looks amazing too. I hope they're relatively inexpensive as I plan on getting one in nearly every colour!

Next is the Maybelline Color Tatoo Eye Shadows
I've been hearing that these are meant to be exactly like MAC paint pots. Now that's a pretty big claim for a 'drugstore' product! I love Maybelline anyway so I'm looking forward to when these come to the UK. I want to get the colours 'Bold Gold' an intense looking pure shimmery gold and 'Bad to the Bronze' a darker gold. This product doesn't have the best colour range but I love cream eyeshadows so I'm looking forward to hopefully buying these!

And last but not least are the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes.
I can't wait for these just to feel their texture! They look so easy to use and blendable with a pretty good colour range. I think I'm going to get a bronzey one and a soft pink one. I've been wanting a good creme blusher for a while now so I can't wait to get my hands on these.

Also I really wish they had NYX and Covergirl over here in the UK too. I've been checking out some of their products and they are so inexpensive and look brilliant. I know you can get NYX online over here but it is more expensive than in the US.

Hope you've enjoyed this blog post!

Foundation: Maybelline v Revlon

Hi everyone,
So this is going to be a post on what foundation I prefer out of-
Maybelline 24HR SuperStay Foundation and Revlon PhotoReady Foundation.

So first up is the Maybelline foundation (I am in the shade 30 sand) - the claim is that it 'lasts for 24 hrs, transfer resistant, and moves flexibly with your skin'. Ok, it does't last for 24 hours but it does last a good 6 hours I would say. It isn't entirely transfer resistant as I was once left with foundation marks on a white t-shirt. However I love this foundation. It comes in a glass jar (not so great) but it has an easy to use pump that dispenses just enough product. The fact that it has SPF 19 in it is amazing as that gives your face so much protection and you don't even need to worry about putting another sun protecting product on. The formula is great, it's so easy to work with. Whether you use a foundation brush, a stippling brush, a sponge or your fingers to apply foundation, this will work anyway. This foundation gives pretty full coverage which I love. It also covers most imperfections and large pores and it gives your face a real matte finish. Where I live, I can pick this foundation up for £9.19. I think that is an amazing price for what this foundation does. I can't rave about it enough.

Now onto the Revlon one. I saw this on a YT video and it looked great. So I picked up one in the shade '007 Cool Beige'. I tried it out and was really disappointed. Normally I apply my foundation with a sponge but that didn't work. Neither did applying it with my fingers, a stippling brush or a foundation brush. It was so hard to work with and blend. It looked patchy on my skin and didn't last long at all.  It claims to give you an 'airbrush finish' but it didn't make my skin look smooth like the Maybelline one does. Also this foundation is more expensive. At £12.99 I really don't think it's worth the money.
